Nepal Army briefs President about current activities

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army on Sunday briefed President Bidya Devi Bhandari about current activities of the national military force.

The President is the NA's Supreme Commander-in-Chief, as per Nepal's Constitution.

The NA Directorate of Public Relations informed in a statement today that Chief of Army Staff Rajendra Chhetri had told the Head of State that the NA was operating its activities keeping the national interests at the top.

Other senior army officials had also briefed the President about history, development, roles and responsibilities, strategies and plans of their respective departments.

The statement said Bhandari, appreciating the NA's works, had directed the organisation to fulfil all responsibilities assigned by the government.

The meeting was held at the President's Office, Sheetal Niwas.
