Kathmandu, January 6:

Rastriya Janshakti Party (RJP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) today condemned the controversy surrounding Pashupatinath Temple.

Issuing a press statement, the RJP accused that the Maoist-led government had interfered in religious affairs four months back during the worship of Kumari and Taleju Bhagawati, repeating it in Pashupatinath temple now.

RJP said that the government had invited trouble by interfering in religious traditions, disobeying the Supreme Court order and dragging the army into controversy.

Separately, the RPP condemned the act saying that it was an attack on faith and had hurt Hindus all over the world. In a press release, the party said it was unfortunate that such a baseless and immature decision had been made.

Meanwhile, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) also submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ today, urging the government to take bold decisions for the betterment of the nation’s peace, stability, and prosperity. The memorandum

called on the government to ensure peace and security in the country. The party said that the recent course of events had put national integrity, identity and sovereignty in jeopardy.

It also urged the government to return seized property back to the owners and to create a peaceful environment so that the displaced families could return to their homes.

The demands include reinstatement of Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police personnel who had deserted the service during the conflict Stopping foreign encroachment in Susta, Kalapani and resolving controversies over border issues have also been sought to address, besides immediate attention to control rising prices of essential goods.
