KATHMANDU, MAY 5

The Kathmandu District Court has extended the judicial custody of Durga Prasai and Rabindra Mishra by five more days to allow continued investigation.

District Court Judge Mahendra Bahadur Karki issued the extension order on Saturday, according to court information officer Dipak Kumar Shrestha.

Prasai and Mishra remain in custody at the District Police Range, Kathmandu, as police continue their probe into the case.

They were arrested in connection with the pro-monarchy protest on March 28, which turned violent, resulting in the deaths of two people, including a journalist.

The protest caused significant damage to businesses and public properties. It included the arson of various public infrastructures, such as the Herb Production and Processing Company, and the looting of Bhatbhateni Supermarket in Koteshwor.

Additionally, there was an attempted arson at a media house, damage to private homes, and the burning of several vehicles.
