KATHMANDU, MAY 7

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that spreading unwarranted disappointment among the public is a form of wrongdoing that undermines national progress.

Speaking during a special dialogue organized on the occasion of the 9th anniversary of news portal Lokaantar.com today, Prime Minister Oli emphasized the importance of steering the country toward hope and development rather than despair and negativity.

Responding to a question posed by moderator Bimal Gautam on why public frustration persists despite ongoing efforts for national development and prosperity, the Prime Minister said, "There is an attempt to defame the country by some individuals on platforms like Facebook and YouTube. They spread the false narrative that there is mass disillusionment among the public, but that is simply not true."

He urged the youth to remain hopeful and focus on contributing to the nation's progress, adding that the current government is committed to completing major development projects swiftly and effectively.

"There are individuals who deliberately create panic by claiming that nothing has happened in this country, that there are no workers here, and that everyone is leaving to find work abroad," he remarked. "These are often people who once ruled for 250 years, and now, seeing no chance of returning to power through democratic means, claim that nothing has improved."

Prime Minister Oli further criticized those who promote authoritarian ideologies and attack expressions of hope and progress. "They even call for boycotting the films of artists who speak about optimism and development," he said. "In reality, democracy is the best system available, and optimism is the right path forward - one we must never abandon."
