TU's Central Library in need of reconstruction

KATHMANDU: The Central Library of the Tribhuvan University has been witnessing the sorry state of affairs currently.

The 2015 earthquake and subsequent aftershocks have damaged the library building developing cracks in the northern part while the upper floor of the front part has become unusable.

The lack of space has been plaguing the Central Library since then.

The University is in the dire need for planning the construction of a new building with the condition of the library constructed in 1964 as the building has been deteriorating day after day.

"The National reconstruction Authority (NRA) had assured the TU to provide with Rs 170 million for the construciton of new building. However, no homework has been made to that end", said Library Incharge Indra Prasad Adhikari.
