KATHMANDU, MAY 15

YUWA, in collaboration with Plan International Nepal, launched the #UniteForResilience campaign on Friday at Hotel Marshyangdi, Thamel. The campaign marks a significant step in Nepal's youth-led climate movement, aiming to strengthen youth leadership in climate action and resilience building across the country, according to the press release issued by the YUWA.

"The #UniteForResilience campaign is a multi-year collaborative initiative (2025–2028 AD) designed to empower diverse youth-particularly girls, young women, and LGBTQIA+ individuals-to lead local and national climate action through advocacy, education, and movement-building."

The launch event was attended by representatives from civil society, youth networks, and the media. The formal session included keynote presentations, campaign-themed artistic performances, and a collective pledge for climate action. Afternoon activities featured interactive youth-led booths with games, quizzes, DIY art stations, and climate storytelling, the release further stated.

"We're calling on all stakeholders- to take this campaign forward with their support. Together, we must unite for this cause. It's now or never. For tomorrow to be better, we must act today. Join us!" said Suruchi Shahi, Program Coordinator at YUWA.

YUWA is a youth-run, youth-led organization working in areas such as climate justice, sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender equality, and civic engagement. Through this campaign, the organization envisions a future where young people in all their diversities are safe, empowered, and leading efforts to build a resilient Nepal.
