Security measures in Rautahat have been tightened ahead of the House of Representatives election scheduled for February 21, with joint patrols by the Nepali Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force launched across sensitive areas of the district.

The move aims to ensure that the election is conducted in a peaceful, orderly and fraud-free manner. The District Security Committee has heightened vigilance to prevent untoward activities, intimidation, threats and violations of the election code of conduct.

Under the leadership of Chief District Officer Dinesh Sagar Bhusal, security chiefs have stepped up regular monitoring of polling centres, polling stations and other highly sensitive locations. Security agencies have stated that any attempt to disrupt the electoral process will be closely monitored and dealt with firmly.

According to the District Administration Office, Rautahat, round-the-clock patrols, checks and surveillance have been intensified so that voters can cast their ballots in a fear-free environment. The administration has reiterated that no compromise will be made in ensuring free, fair and credible elections.
