BANEPA: A person died on the spot and two others were injured when a minitruck they were travelling on skidded off the road and fell some 30 metres down in Mechhepauwa-3 in Kavre district on Saturday.

According to DSP Nabin Raj Rai of the Dhulikhel-based District Police Office, the deceased has been identified as local Santaman Tamang and the injured as his wife Thulimaya Tamang (55) and the vehicle driver Sunil Tamang of Jhangajholi-22, Sindhuli.

The incident occurred when the truck (Ba 3 Kha 4100) was transporting sand to build the couple's house from a local river in Mangaltar of the district, said police.

Both of the injured are being treated at the Dhulikhel Hospital.
