KATHMANDU, JULY 12

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 657,139 on Monday with 1,690 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 621,027 with 1,133 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll shifted to 9,400 with 18 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 11,584 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,689 were PCR tests while 3,895 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,423,164 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 680 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 2,370.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 94.5 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 26,712 with daily recoveries exceeding daily infections.

The capital recorded as many as 289 infections today while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur recorded 90 and 54 respectively.

So far, a total of 3,690,999 people have received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 2,611,807 have received the first dose while only 1,079,192 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Currently, there are 299 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Sunday, Nepal's coronavirus case count had reached 655,449 with 1,533 more people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 187 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 171 million people have recovered while more than 11 million cases are still active.
