2 killed in accidents

KHOTANG: Gaurav Rai, 24, a resident of Chhitapokhari-8 in Khotang was killed when he fell down a cliff in Diktel last night, the district headquarters. Rai, who had come to Diktel to attend the B Ed second year exams, fell off the hill while returning to his room under the influence of alcohol, Khotang District Police Office said. The body has been taken to the district hospital for an autopsy. Meanwhile, a report from Nepalgunj said Buddhiram Chaudhari, a resident of Mahadevpuri-6, was killed in a road accident at Shumshergunj on the East-West highway on Friday night. Chaudhari, who sustained critical injuries after a bus heading to Kathmandu from Surkhet hit him, died in course of treatment in Nepalgunj Medical College, Kohalpur Area Police Office said. Irate locals obstructed the highway demanding compensation and action against the guilty for five hours, police said. While, a report from Tanahun said two youths they fell off a bus heading for Damauli today. Tila Bahadur Shahi, 22, and Man Bahadur Pariyar, 21, of Bhimad-6, who were critically hurt in the accident, were taken to Gandaki Hospital in Pokhara for treatment.
