KATHMANDU: At least three persons died and more than a dozen were injured when a bus they were aboard skidded off the road and fell 50 metres onto a tree on slope in Dang district today. Two of the deceased have been identified as Chitra Bahadur Shrestha (60) of Rukum district, currently living in Saudiyar VDC in Dang, and Byauri BK (38) of Pyuthan district while the third one is yet to be identified, said police.

The passenger bus (Lu 2 kha 776) heading for Butwal from Ghorahi met with the accident injuring more than a dozen of passengers, at Musot, in Lakshmipur VDC along the Ghorahi-Lamahi road section in the district, at around 11:45 pm, according to District Police Office, Dang. Two of the critically  injured were rushed to Ghorahi-based Rapti Sub-Regional Hospital where they died during the course of treatment. Other injured passengers were admitted to a primary health care centre in Pyuthan, where the third critically injured breathed his last.
