Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 739,907 on Wednesday with 2,613 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 689,173 with 2,104 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 10,396 with 42 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 16,838 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 11,839 were PCR tests while 4,999 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,791,069 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 790 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 3,403.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 93.1%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%. The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 40,338.

So far, a total of 8,435,662 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 4,785,902 have received the first dose while only 3,649,760 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Currently, there are 457 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

In the same time frame, 711 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 160 and 122 cases respectively.

On Tuesday, Nepal's coronavirus caseload had reached 737,294 with 2,456 more people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 209 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.3 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 187 million people have recovered while more than 17 million cases are still active.
