KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 3

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 797,192 on Sunday with 574 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 769,224 with 1,405 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 11,164 with seven more fatalities.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 16,804 against 17,642 a day before.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 10,920 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,070 were PCR tests while 3,850 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,228,163 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 105 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 679.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 96.5 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

Currently, there are 252 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

The capital district holds the highest number of infections with 222 cases in the country while Morang is second in line with 62 cases while Kaski with 46 cases each today.

So far, a total of 14,069,307 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 7,716,985 have received the first dose while only 6,352,322 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Globally, over 235 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.8 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 212 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
