KATHMANDU, JULY 7

Air services in Taplejung have resumed after a three-week disruption caused by adverse weather conditions. Flights had been suspended since June 13 due to poor visibility and heavy monsoon rainfall.

A Nepal Airlines flight arrived in Taplejung from Kathmandu today, carrying four passengers, while five passengers boarded the return flight to the capital.

According to Narayan Kumar Karki, station in-charge of Nepal Airlines in Taplejung, a total of six flights were affected during the suspension period. He attributed the disruptions to the onset of the monsoon season, which brought unpredictable weather patterns.

Currently, Nepal Airlines operates two flights a week on the Kathmandu–Taplejung–Kathmandu route, scheduled for Mondays and Fridays.

The fare for the Taplejung to Kathmandu flight has been fixed at Rs 9,200 per person.
