Book on struggle between Dahal and Baburam Bhattarai

Kathmandu, March 8

Second rung leaders of different Maoist parties today revealed a book titled 'Divorce' focused on struggle between the two Maoist leaders.

Leaders, including secretary of Unified CPN-Maoist Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, who is also the deputy prime minister and energy minister, Spokesperson of CPN-Revolutionary Maoist Pampha Bhusal, General Secretary of Revolutionary Communist Party Nepal Mani Thapa and Organisational head of the New Force Campaign Devendra Poudel jointly launched the book by journalist Netra Panthi today.

According to Panthi, the book deals with the 25 years’ political journey of both UCPN-M Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and his deputy Baburam Bhattarai and their internal struggle for power. He said the book includes all the documents and differing views and analyses up to Bhattarai’s departure from the UCPN-M. The book also reveals the conflict between the wives of top Maoist leaders including Dahal, Bhattarai and Ram Bahadur Thapa.

Addressing the book launch today Rayamajhi said he wondered how Bhattarai could convince people from different backgrounds when he could not convince his own close friends. Rayamajhi requested Bhattarai to return home as it was not good to desert the party.
