KATHMANDU, MAY 7
The Central Security Committee met on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak to assess recent developments following the escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan and their potential implications for Nepal.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA), the meeting decided to heighten surveillance in sensitive areas, including Nepal-India border points and major airports.
"The meeting directed security agencies to remain on high alert," said MoHA Spokesperson Ramchandra Tiwari.
The safety of Nepali citizens residing in India and Pakistan was also discussed, alongside plans to strengthen internal security, enhance inter-agency coordination, and improve information sharing.
