KATHMANDU, JUNE 9

The Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court which was formed to hear the writs against dissolution of House of Representatives, has resumed case proceedings on Wednesday.

The hearing will commence despite the defendant attorneys' protest against composition of the bench, an application was filed against which seeking recusal of Justices Ananda Mohan Bhattarai and Deepak Kumar Karki on Sunday.

The proceedings of the cass were disrupted following the government attorneys' protest on Sunday, and simultaneously on Monday and Tuesday due to the sudden illness of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana.

Justice Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada, while commencing the hearing on the writs related to House dissolution on Wednesday, firmly stated that no further issues related to bench composition would be entertained by the Apex Court, here on.

The current bench, which was reconstituted by CJ Rana based on seniority following complaints from petitioners, comprises Chief Justice Rana, Justices Deepak Kumar Karki, Mira Khadka, Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada and Ananda Mohan Bhattarai.

Each advocate has been allotted half an hour to debate and present their rationale and has been asked to abide by the given time.
