The vaccination campaign against COVID-19 will start in Bajura from tomorrow.

Chief of Bajura Health Office Daya Krishna Panta said people above eighteen years could receive the vaccine from tomorrow onwards from vaccination centres. He said as many as 45,990 people in the district would receive Vero cell vaccine from 70 vaccination centres. He added that 44,000 vaccines had been sent to the vaccination centres.

"Preparation has been completed to launch the vaccination campaign in Bajura," he informed.

He said that as many as 34,741 had received the first dose of the vaccine, while 27,051 had received the second dose in the district.

According to the health office, the vaccines were supplied to vaccination centres despite obstruction on the Sanphe-Martadi road section due to rainfall. The heavy rainfall this season has damaged roads.

Panta said they were facing the difficulties supplying vaccines to geographically remote areas due to the road obstruction.

People supplied the vaccines putting their lives at high risk along the obstructed road in Balde area.

Information Officer Mahesh Chand said the vaccines were supplied through the landslide damaged road.
