Two critically injured in the blast

The Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Krantikari) led by Jai Krishna Goit has claimed responsibility for the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion at the Land Revenue Office in Lahan of Siraha district on Sunday afternoon, which injured nine persons.
According to the press release issued by the group, the pressure cooker bomb that exploded at around 12:47 pm was placed by the group as part of a campaign against corruption that is rampant in Tarai.
"Nepal is one of the most corrupted nations in the world and due to the forceful colonisation of the Tarai by Nepal, corruption has reached its extreme in the region which the group thinks is a heinous crime," the statement reads.
The group has threatened further severe actions if the situation remains prevalent in Tarai, and according to the outlawed group, the corrupted federal and provincial government will have to bear the responsibility of which.
Jai Krishna Goit, Chair of the Central Committee of the Morcha has said in the statement that the Nepali rulers have been forcefully colonising the "Free Tarai nation", a free nation established as per article 8 of two treaties signed in 1950 in Kathmandu between Nepal-India and Britain-Nepal.
To free Tarai from the forceful occupation of the Nepali Government, the JTMM(K) started the struggle on July 25, 2004, the press release claimed.
The group was formed in 2004 as after a split from the then CPN (Maoist) accusing the latter of not guaranteeing autonomy to the Tarai-Madhesh. Nagendra Singh Paswan 'Jwala Singh', a former CPN (Maoist) cadre, later split from the group and formed his own party Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha - Jwala Singh.
Meanwhile, one person critically injured in the blast has been airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment.
