Govt to probe Muglin road construction delay

Chitwan, May 22

Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa today said the government would launch a probe into the delay in construction of Narayangadh-Muglin road.

While taking stock of the situation from security chiefs of Chitwan in Bharatpur, Thapa said his ministry had directed investigation into the delay in Narayangadh-Muglin road construction as the work was not completed despite frequent extension of deadlines. “We will investigate and then decide whether to extend the deadline for the construction or fine the construction company for the delay,” Thapa said. He inquired about contractor companies failing to complete their work within the deadline in the district.

Thapa also took stock of activities of the Netra Bikram Chand-led party cadres in the district and directed security chiefs to maintain law and order.

Chitwan CDO Jitendra Basnet and police chief SP Sushil Singh Rathaur informed the minister about the havoc wreaked by storm and hailstones, bird flu outbreak and activities of the Netra Bikram-Chand led party activists.

A helicopter ferrying a team with Home Minister Thapa to Karnali Province for security meet in Surkhet had landed in Chitwan due to adverse weather.
