KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 27

After months of debates, discussions and polarisation over Millennium Challenge Corporation Compact, the government coalition parties have finally agreed to ratify the deal today.

A meeting of the ruling alliance -- including top leaders of Nepali Congress, CPN- Maoist Centre, CPN- Unified Socialists and Janata Samajwadi Party -- after rounds of intra-party discussions, had made a decision to this effect on Sunday.

The agreement will be first deliberated upon in the House of Representatives, which will endorse the same. However, the deal that will be passed will include interpretative points and government's response to the questions raised over the pact in parliament.

Two meetings will be held in the House today, wherein the first meeting will hold discussions on the US-grant while the second one will pass the same.

The House will convene a meeting of the representatives today at 1:00 pm.
