Health workers on warpath

Biratnagar, September 6 :

Some 400 health workers in Morang district have gone on strike today to demand promotion. They closed down all health posts in the district indefinitely to press for meeting their demands.

The health workers, who had gone on strike a month ago also, had postponed their strike on August 31 after they were assured that their demands would be met. “Health posts in the district have been closed indefinitely as our demands were not met,” chairman of the Morang Struggle Committee, Bishwamitra Dhakal, said.

There are altogether 49 sub-health posts, 10 health posts and four primary health posts in Morang.
