Heat wave toll is six

At least six persons have died of heat wave in Dhanusha and Rautahat districts in the past

two days. Dhanushi Mandal, 60, and his wife Ramdulari Mandal, 55, of Baspiti VDC-8 died today, while Digri Mandal, 50, of the same VDC and Ramdulari Mandal died yesterday, according to the District Police Office, Dhanusha. Three other residents of the same VDC have been admitted to the hospital. Senior physian at the Janakpur Zonal Hospital, Dr Bijaya Kumar Singh, said that when one suffers from a heat stroke, the brain tissues stop functioning, which leads the person to die. The temperature in Janakpur has been recorded at 42 degrees Celsius for the last two days.In Rautahat, two persons died due to heat stroke. Sanjha Devi, 25, of Sangrampur VDC-8 and another woman of Mahamadpur VDC died yesterday.
