The house of Krishna Prasad Dahal, a native of Itahari, was damaged on Friday after a bomb planted by the Maoists went off when a bomb disposal squad of the Eastern Division Headquarters of the Royal Nepalese Army tried to defuse it. Dahal is a member of the Amnesty International (AI) and secretary of the Nepal Bar Association (NBA), Sunsari. The Sunsari branches of the NBA and AI condemned the incident. Meanwhile, the RNA has urged civilians to inform security agencies if they find suspicious objects in anyone’s house.
