Joint stir announced in Kailali
Dhangadi, April 18
Tharuhat/Tharuwan Joint Struggle Committee, Federal Alliance and Rajbanshi Community today jointly announced protest programme against the government’s declaration of local level elections on May 14.
The forces argued that there was no point in holding the elections, during a press meet organised in Kailali.
They demanded that the government release persons held in relation to the Tikapur incident unconditionally.
The agitating Rajbanshi Community is preparing to submit a memorandum to the government on April 19, to hold a motorbike protest rally on April 23, a torch rally on April 27, Tharuhat Region bandh on April 28, and Nepal bandh on April 29.
Likewise, the community also plans to defy the election code of conduct from April 30 to May 9 this year, and
to launch an indefinite general strike from May 10, as per the Tharuhat/ Tharuwan Joint Struggle Committee Kailali Coordinator Krishna Kumar Chaudhary.
