Khanal holds Madhesi front responsible for Tikapur incident

Dhangadi, March 15

Senior CPN-UML leader Jhalanath Khanal today charged the agitating Madhesi front of inciting the Tikapur incident in Kailali last year.

Speaking at a mass gathering of his party, as part of the Mechi-Mahakali national campaign, today in Tikapur, Kailali, Khanal said this and sought fair investigation into the incident.

“Madehsi Front has warned us not to hold mass gathering and rally. Who gave them the right to ban us from the universal practice of exercising democratic rights. They are hatching a conspiracy against us. The recent Rajbiraj incident was a premeditated one. The front is responsible for the death of five innocent persons in the incident,” he said.

Khanal also said the government was worthless. “The incumbent government has been a burden on the state. It has not been able to maintain good governance. It has also been unable to carry out developmental activities. Though it declared the poll date due to pressure from the opposition, it is reluctant to hold polls on time” he argued.
