GALKOT, JULY 24

Gam Bahadur Kisaan of Kathekhola Rural Municipality, who is undergoing treatment in Kathmandu for failure of both his kidneys, is facing a financial crisis and has sought support to continue his treatment and thereby save his life.

The family has already spent Rs 700,000 on Kisaan's treatment.

He has been undergoing treatment at the TU teaching Hospital in Kathmandu for the past five months after being diagnosed with kidney failure. The financial condition of the family is weak as he makes his living as a daily wage labourer.

Hemraj Kisaan, brother of Gam Bahadur, said that although he is undergoing dialysis it is now necessary to transplant his kidney.

His family and close relatives have also contributed as much as they can but now outside support has become a must to save his life.

Kisaan, working in a grill industry in Baglung market, was diagnosed with kidney failure after he fell unconscious while working. After four weeks in Pokhara, he was taken to Kathmandu for further treatment. Although he is undergoing regular dialysis now, it seems necessary to have a kidney transplant as soon as possible.

His treatment will cost Rs 700,000 to 800,000 more.
