Lawmaker Shahi injured in Tanahun road accident

TANAHUN: Lawmaker Mahendra Shahi and three others were injured in a car accident that occurred at Deurali of Ghansikuwa VDC-2 along the Prithvi Highway in Tanahun district on Tuesday morning.

According to the District Police Office, Tanahun, the car (Ba 8 Cha 7591) en route to Pokhara from Kathmandu fell some 20 metres off the road, slightly injuring lawmaker Shahi.

The 55-year-old lawmaker of Kalikot district, currently living at Hattiban in Lalitpur.

It has been learned that the was driving the car himself.

Along with him other passengers in the car were also injured, among them local Madhuri Magar (18) sustained serious injuries in her back and head while condition of other two injured Suja Shahi (16) and Devendra Shahi (30) has been learned to be normal.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rakesh Singh of the DPO Tanahun said that all four received primary medical attention in the Ratnahari Hospital, Damauli.

DSP Singh further said they have been rushed to the Pokhara-based Manipal Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
