KATHMANDU, JANUARY 30

The main opposition, the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center), has decided to reject the ordinances introduced by the government, asserting that their issuance undermines democratic principles.

At a parliamentary party meeting held at Singha Durbar today, chaired by parliamentary party leader and party chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the party resolved to prioritize issues related to public welfare in the House, according to Chief Whip Hitaraj Pandey.

"The six ordinances are procedurally flawed; therefore, we have decided to formally register a motion rejecting them and to exert pressure on the government to fulfill its commitments made during its formation and address pressing livelihood concerns," he stated.

Chief Whip Pandey further shared that party Chair Dahal instructed lawmakers to take a firm stance in Parliament and prioritize raising public issues.
