A migrant worker in America has helped four stranded kids of Badimalika Municipality, Bajura, from Kathmandu, with Rs 60,984 after the plight of the siblings was published in this daily.

Amar Chhetry, residing in America, helped the kids with the foodstuff and cash after The Himalayan Times published a news story about the stranded children.

Similarly, an engineer from Bajura residing in Kathmandu, Jiban Sha, also helped the kids with Rs 7,827. The help amount and the materials were given to the kids in coordination with the municipality. Mayor of the municipality Amar Khadka said that food materials, clothes and cash, among other needed materials, were offered to the stranded kids. Likewise, Disabled Helpless Children Reform Society decided to help the children with accommodation and studies. Chairman Ramesh Dev Sunar of the Society said that they came to know about the children after reading the news story published in THT and decided to take responsibility of the kids.

An Australian resident Dawa Sherpa has also assured help to the helpless kids in their studies.

Chhetry said he had decided to extend help to the kids immediately after he got to know about their plight. The children have been left in the lurch after the death of their father Haribhane some 15 days ago while their mother Laxchhu Chadara had passed away six years ago.

Ward No 7 Chairman Dharma Raj Padhya said the four kids were left in the lurch after the death of their parents. He said Sangita Chandara, 14, Ramila, 12, Bibek, 9, and Bikram, 6, are fending for themselves.
