Kathmandu, February 16:

Police today arrested Nepali Congress (NC) spokesman Arjun Narsingh KC while he was walking out of the party office after talking to a group of journalists.

He is the sixth NC leader arrested after February 1. He has been detained at the District Police Office, Lalitpur “The party has decided to launch a concerted agitation from Friday,” KC had told reporters just before he was arrested. He had also made it clear his party is in touch with other parties in the pro-parliamentary camp and that the movement could be launched with Nepali Congress (Democratic) and the CPN-UML as partners.

Much like Girija Prasad Koirala who had, yesterday, issued a call for the restoration of the House of Representatives as part of the solution, KC reinforced the need to revive parliament to seek a remedy for the ills facing the country.
