Nepal Covid-19 Update: 4364 cases, 2675 discharges, 12 deaths on Thursday
KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Health Ministry, in its regular press briefing, shared the latest updates on coronavirus contagion from across the country, and government’s response to the health crisis.
Till date, 1,131,958 tests through Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method have been carried wherein 18,472 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours.
At present, there are 4,460 people under quarantine in various facilities across the country. The number of active cases Nepal, currently, is 26,684.

4,364 new cases of the coronavirus infection were registered today taking the national tally to 98,617.
As many as 2,675 persons earlier diagnosed with the disease, admitted in various healthcare facilities have been discharged following recovery in the last 24 hours. With the recent addition, the national COVID-19 recovery tally has now reached 71,343.

Meanwhile, 12 COVID-19 fatalities have been confirmed by the Ministry today, with which the COVID-19 death tally has now advanced to 590.
Amidst this huge surge in infections in the country, Dr Jageshwor Gautam shared his dissatisfaction over the recklessness of people who are not following the protocols designed to contain the virus spread. The flow of people incoming in the capital is increasing while the cases have surged significantly here. And to the other side, as Dashain is very near, he suggested all the citizens not to crowd the public places with Dashain-fever and to remain inside their houses and celebrate with less fervour.
The Ministry has provided with the toll-free number 1133 and 1166 for necessary medical aid and the mobile number 9851255837 for further queries.
As of today, the country has witnessed 98,617 cases of the coronavirus infection while 71,343 people have been discharged from hospitals. Meanwhile, 590 COVID-19 fatalities have been confirmed.
