Nepal President will visit India soon, says envoy Upadhyay

KATHMANDU: Nepal's Ambassador to India Deep Kumar Upadhyay today claimed that preparations had reached the final stage for President Bidya Devi Bhandari's visit to India.

The date for visit would be decided soon, said envoy Upadhyay at an interaction organised at the Reporter's Club on Friday.

Meanwhile, Upadhyay stated that both the countries had no any issue of contention at present.

"All kinds of obstacles are being cleared and this is a positive thing," claimed Upadhyay, adding, "The Nepal-India Oversight Mechanism meeting was held in January, and the recent visits of India's Railway Minister and Finance Minister have further strengthened the diplomatic relations between Nepal and India."

Likewise, he further informed that an agreement would be made between the Nepal Oil Corporation and the India Oil Corporation to minimise the fuel crisis in Nepal.

Meanwhile, speaking on a different note, Upadhyay stressed the need to forge consensus between the political parties to implement the Constitution.

"We all should be aware before the ship sinks."
