KATHMANDU, JULY 1

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recovered on Wednesday after several sessions of decline, with the benchmark index climbing 44.59 points, or 1.70 percent, to close at 2,652.93.

The rally was supported by gains across all sectoral indices. The Sensitive Index, which tracks Class 'A' companies, rose 1.27 percent, while the Float Index gained 1.58 percent.

Among sectoral indices, the Trading sector posted the highest gain of 2.60 percent, followed by Hydropower (2.42 percent), Manufacturing and Processing (2.34 percent) and Non-life Insurance (2.03 percent). All remaining sectors also ended in positive territory, with the Mutual Fund sector recording the smallest increase of 0.55 percent.

Market activity also improved, with daily turnover reaching Rs 3.86 billion, up from Rs 3.25 billion recorded on Tuesday. A total of 9.54 million shares of 362 listed companies changed hands through 56,850 transactions.

Investor sentiment remained broadly positive, with 252 stocks advancing, 17 declining, and six closing unchanged.

Among individual stocks, Snow Rivers Limited (SNORL) emerged as the day's top gainer, surging 14.99 percent.

The market's total capitalisation stood at Rs 4.54 trillion, while float market capitalisation reached Rs 1.53 trillion at the close of trading.
