Journo manhandled

MAHENDRANAGAR: A gang of three persons manhandled Shyamdutta Bhatta, acting editor of Sudurpaschim Post, a weekly newspaper published from Mahendrangar, here on Sunday night. The trio -- Nabin Gurung, Hem Abasthi and Jaya Kisan Chaudhary, all residents of Bhimdutta Municipality-18 -- had roughed up Bhatta at around 10:30 pm at Mahakali Zonal Hospital Road while he was returning home. The police, acting upon a complaint, immediately arrested the three for necessary interrogation. Meanwhile, those arrested were released on Monday following an agreement between the journo and the assailants. — HNS

Three hurt in mishap

TANAHUN: Three persons were injured when a microbus was hit by a bus at Daulegauda-2 in Tanahun district on Monday. Of the three injured, driver of the microbus Niraj Gurung was critically injured. Gurung is undergoing treatment in Pokhara-based Gandaki Hospital. The other two injured, Arjun Dhakal and Akash Gurung, are undergoing treatment in Seti Ganga Community Hospital. — HNS
