Four Maoists hurt

KATHMANDU: The Central Information Bureau of the CPN-Maoist said on Thursday that four students of the ANNISU-R were hurt when activists of the NC-affiliated Tarun Dal attacked them. The incident took place at Bungkot Khabdi Bhanjyan Bazar of Gorkha on Thursday. The statement, quoting Maoist district in-charge Bijaya, identified the injured as Sijan Kaphadi, Keshar Khadka, Ramesh Shrestha and Rajan Tiwari. Meanwhile, the CPN (Maoist) said the YCL was not involved in the attack on NC candidate Dilman Pakhrin at Dhadhing Besari VDC-2. — HNS

Badal backs Sherchan

CHITWAN: In an election campaign organised by the CPN-Maoist in Jagatpur, central member of CPN-Maoist Ram Bahadur Thapa alias Badal, on Wednesday directed all cadres to cast votes for Janamorcha president Amik Sherchan. Badal said so after Maoist central leadership decided to support Janamorcha from Chitwan constituency no 5.— HNS
