KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 1

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has emphasized the full protection and effective utilization of land registered under the Nepal Children's Organization (Bal Mandir).

During a meeting today with the Organization's officials at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar, the Prime Minister urged them to take decisive action, if necessary, to ensure the protection of all physical assets, including land and buildings owned by the Organization across the country.

He strongly advised the officials to prevent any attempts to seize, encroach upon, or misuse the Organization's land. If any land has been encroached upon, its ownership must be restored to the Organization, he insisted.

Newly appointed Chief Secretary Eknarayan Aryal and Secretary at the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Phanindra Gautam, were also present at the meeting.

The Prime Minister further stressed the importance of ensuring proper care and facilities for the children under the Organization's protection.

The Organization's President, Bidhya Neupane, requested the government's full support in securing a revised and official statute for the Organization, recognizing it as a special entity, protecting its land, and assisting children who face challenges in obtaining birth registrations and citizenship.

Currently, the Organization provides protection to around 300 children.
