DADELDHURA: The Rautes of Jogbudha and Shrisha VDCs in Dadeldhura district are yet to receive the special allowance that the Maoist-led government had declared.

“We went to the VDC office to take the allowance several times, however, we returned without the amount,” Shanti Devi, a Raute woman said.

Seventy household of Rautes live in Jogbuda and Shirsha villages in Dadeldhura district. The National Forest Improvement Commission had settled them there 27 years ago.

The Maoist government had decided to provide Rs 1000 to each Raute as special allowance.

The Rautes have not received the social security allowance and the allowance for the widows since no fund is released for these purpose.

“Fund has not been released from the Ministry of Local Development yet, it might be released in the coming fiscal year,” LDO, Bishnu Dhakal said.
