KATHMANDU, AUGUST 5

Nepal Red Cross Society has taken the initiative to distribute health safety equipment to health workers and hospitals.

The NRCS has been providing health materials targeting frontline health workers who have been relentlessly providing services in the fight against COVID-19 in the country ever since the very first wave of the pandemic.

The Red Cross, in collaboration with the Coca-Cola Foundation, handed over the health safety materials to the health workers in Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, Armed Police Force Office, Balambu and Nepal Medical Association yesterday.

The materials comprise 12,500 surgical masks, 5,000 pairs of gloves, 950 bottles of sanitisers, among others.

"The Red Cross had provided seven sets of ventilators and other medical equipment to the Ministry of Health and Population during the first wave of the pandemic," said NRCS General Secretary Pitambar Aryal.

"The Red Cross has also taken initiative to import vaccines via the international channel of Red Cross."
