The Sudur Paschim province government has allocated budget to establish an oxygen plant at District Hospital, Doti.

The Hospital Management Committee said the hospital has received eight million rupees from the province's Social Development Ministry to undertake the project at a time when it is facing challenges to treat Covid-19 patients in lack of oxygen. The district has over 200 active cases.

Likewise, Achham, Bajura, Bajhang, Baitadi and Darchula have also received the budget (Rs 8 million each) from the province government to set up the oxygen plant in the respective district hospitals, according to ministry spokesperson Narendra Karki.

The Far-Western Regional Health Directorate said the province requires 500 oxygen cylinders on a daily basis to deal with the rising cases of Covid-19.
