Three killed in Trishuli jeep plunge, as many missing

Three persons lost their lives and as many have gone missing after a jeep met with an accident along the Mailung-Syanfrubesi road section in Rasuwa this evening.
The deceased have been identified as Norbu Tamang, 32, Saili Ghale, 32, and Mindo Ghale, 35, of Amachhodingmo Rural Municipality. While two died on the spot, one died at Nuwakot-based Trishuli Hospital in the course of treatment.
According to Inspector Ishwori Prasad Bhandari of Rasuwa District Police Office, Pasangde Ghale, 48, Kami Yangjen Ghale, 19, and Letang Ghale, 20, are missing in the river.
“Though a police team carried out a search for the missing for almost the entire day today, they are yet to be found,” said Inspector Dhakal.
Meanwhile, five persons including the jeep driver and two minors were seriously injured in the accident. They have been sent to Kathmandu for further treatment, said police.
Police informed that all the passengers on board the Tata Sumo jeep were from Goljung in Amachhodingmo Rural Municipality.
The jeep was heading to Goljung from Pokhara when it veered off the road and plunged into the Trishuli river about 100 metres below at the confluence of Gosainkunda and Kalika rural municipalities.
