Tourists' flow in Annapurna Circuit increases
LAMJUNG: With the arrival of September, which is believed to be the beginning of tourist season in Nepal, there has been a considerable increment in the number of domestic and international tourists routing the Annapurna circuit.
According to the Trekkers' Information Management Systems (TIMS), Besisahar which works under the Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN), 1,735 tourists are recorded to have travelled the Annapurna route since September while off-season travellers between May-August counted to 3,112.
Last year, 2,231 tourists had been reported during a similar timeline, Nandaraj Bhatta, an employee of TIMS suggested. He added that the number of tourists is likely to advance this year around.
Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), Manang reported increment in the number of tourists staying in hotels at places like Chame, Timang, Danakyu, Bagarchhap, Dharapani, Dhikurpokhari, Pisang, Humde, Bhraka, Manang, Khangsar, Tilicho basecamp, Thorang Phedi, Naar and Phu.
The major tourist attractions for enthusiasts trekking in Manang include Thorang Pass, Larke Pass, Kala Pass, Tilicho Lake, Jomsom, Beni, Ghorepani, and Muktinath.
