Police have arrested two persons in possession of the banned drug Tramadol at Chandrapur in Rautahat district.
According to the Area Police Office, Chandrapur, the arrests were made during a regular vehicle check along the East-West Highway near Chandrapur Municipality–4. Police stopped a scooter (registration no. MP 032-025P 9721) and found 130 Tramadol tablets hidden inside a raincoat bag hanging from the handlebar.
The arrested have been identified as Budhha Singh Waiba (27), son of Hembahadur Waiba of Lalbandi Municipality–16, Sarlahi, and Sarin Yonjan, son of Bhimbahadur Yonjan of Hariban Municipality–3, Sripur.
DSP Rupa Labung of the Area Police Office, Chandrapur, said that the pair were apprehended while attempting to smuggle the controlled substance and that further investigation is underway.
