Two held with illegal sugar

Police have two arrested two persons on the charges of hoarding and selling sugar procured illegally.
Those arrested have been identified as Dinesh Pandey and Ramesh Tiwari of Kalaiya sub-metropolis. They were made public amidst a press meet at Bara District Police Office, on Sunday.
A police team arrested them for their involvement in selling illegal sugar from the house of Ram Narayan Yadav, at Kalaiya-6, last night. DSP Ranjit Singh Rathaur at District Police Office, Bara said they had stored the customs evaded sugar in Yadav’s room rented out for them. DSP Rathaur said they had brought the sugar from India.
They had sold the illegal sugar from Jaya Hunuman Traders, a compnay registered in the name of Pandey’s wife. They had also stored some sacks of sugar bought from Manaharwa-based Reliance Sugar and Chemical Industries. Police seized 17 quintal Indian sugar worth Rs 150,000 from the godown.
DSP Rathaur said the arrested had been sent, along with the seized illegal sugar, to Revenue Investigation Office. Pathliya for further actions.
