BAJURA, NOVEMBER 27
Vote counting for elections to the House of Representatives and Province Assembly has been left in limbo in Bajura.
Based on the complaints that CPN- UML and Nepali Congress had captured some booths, the Election Commission has started a probe. A three-member team that arrived here has left for Kathmandu. "The three-member team led by Joint Secretary Tulashi Shrestha has returned to the EC", said Chief Returning Officer Nabaraj Awasthi at the Bajura Election office. The EC will decide whether to start counting votes or to re-poll after the team reaches Kathmandu.
Re-polling was held at Budhinanda Municiplaity-5 yesterday, while elections were held in other places on November 20. NC accuses UML of capturing 16 booths while UML has charged NC of capturing eight booths on November 20.
Both NC and UML had filed the complaints with District Election Office charging each other of booth capture.
Following the complaints, EC had sent a three-member team to investigate the complaints.
