BUTWAL, NOVEMBER 21
Vote counting under the elections to the Member of House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly has been suspended in Rupandehi constituency-4.
The count was halted owing to a dispute over the valid and invalid ballots.
Returning Officer for the constituency, Devendra Acharya, said the dispute whether to recognize the ballot papers dropped in another ballot box led to the suspension of the counting.
Before this development, 4,843 ballots were counted and the highest number 1,883 were obtained by the election symbol 'bicycle' followed by 1,340 by 'tree' while 1,033 were for the 'loudspeaker' symbol.
Efforts are on to settle the issue through an all-party meeting.
