KATHMANDU: Alliance of Madhes based parties, United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) leaders met with Nepali Congress leaders at NC president Girija Prasad Koirala’s residence in Maharajgunj on Tuesday morning.

The meeting was held to discuss the allocations of the Ministries and Common Minimum Programme (CMP) of the government.

According to the MJF leader Bijay Kumar Gachhadar, they demanded equal status in the cabinet with Nepali Congress and CPN-UML. UDMF leaders are also to discuss with the UML leaders in this matter.

Meanwhile, the three major parties NC, CPN-UML and UDMF leaders are holding talks on Tuesday afternoon to discuss CMP and sharing of Ministries in the new government.

Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF), Tarai Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP) and Sadbhavana Party (SP) are in alliance.

Earlier, the meeting of the alliance of Madhesh based parties UDMF decided to claim altogether 9 ministries in the cabinet, while MJF decided for six ministries, TDMP for 2 and SP for 1 ministry.
