KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 3

The pictures give a peek into the preparations that were carried out prior to the mass rally organised today.

An artist paints a flag of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) ahead of the mass rally in support of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. Likewise, the NCP symbol can be seen on a face mask that is displayed at a shop.

People came out into the streets of the capital city to support PM Oli's move of December 20 to dismantle the Lower Houser of the federal parliament and call for elections more than a year ahead of schedule.

Meanwhile, the dissenting faction of the party led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal have called for a general strike on Thursday.
