APF, NDA advance to semis
Nepal APF Club and Shivam New Diamond Academy advanced to the semi-finals of the second Didibahini Cup National Women’s Volleyball Tournament here today.
In Group B matches, APF defeated Nepal Police Club by 3-1 sets and returned to thrash hosts Didibahini in straight sets.
APF took first set against NPC 25-17 but NPC fought back to win second set 29-27 before APF took next two sets 25-21 and 25-11 to win the match.
Similarly, APF thrashed Didibahini 25-2, 25-4, 25-12 and topped the group to make it last four.
As the group comprises of three teams, the group runners-up will be decided after the match between NPC and Didibahini.
In Group A, NDA defeated Tribhuvan Army Club 25-17, 25-14, 25-17 in their first match and returned to thrash Western 25-11, 25-6, 25-14 to top the group with two victories.
Another semi-finalist team from the group will be decided after the match between TAC and Western.
A total of six teams are competing in the event being organised by Radio Didibahini of Parbat.
The top three teams will get Rs 100,000, Rs 60,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively.
