Bikash Gauchan scored a hat-trick as Sunakothi Chela Sangati entered the semi-finals of the Inter-Church Football Tournament beating Koinonia Balaju Church 4-2 on Sunday.

In the day’s first quarter-final match held at the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) complex, Sunakothi dominated the match from early minutes as Doran Sherchan opened the the scoring in the ninth minute of the play.

Gyanu Limbu levelled the score in the 24th minute, while Gauchan scored his first and team’s second goal in the 38th minute. Sunakothi boys scored a suicide goal in the dying minutes of the first half levelling the score 2-2.

Gauchan scored his second goal in the early minutes of the second half, while he netted his third goal in the 28th minute, sealing the victory 4-2.

In the other quarter-finals, Asha Church defeated Prasamsa Church 7-6 in tie breaker after both the teams were locked at 4-4 in the regulation time.

Bikrana Shrestha scored all the four goals for Prasamsa Church, while Bhim Tamang and Milan Rai scored two goals each for Asha Church.

Both the teams failed to score the decider in the golden goal period which took the play into tie breaker. Bikrana’s four goals went to vain as Asha Church scored three goals leaving their opponents one goal behind in tie breaker.

The other two quarter-finals are scheduled for Monday at the same venue. Anmol Church will play against Valley View Four Square Church in the first match, while Koinonia Patan Church is scheduled to play against Aradhana Church in the other quarter-final.
